INTRODUCTION

Vellum is a full feature which will be shot in S.E. London over the summer of 2026. It will be sold at three major film markets: the Gotham in NYC, the Marché du Cannes (attached to the festival), and the European Film Market which is attached to the Berlinale.
These are confirmed. We may also attend the American Film Market, the decision for which will depend largely on the Gotham.

Vellum is an 'equity production'. All members of the cast and crew will benefit from a deferred wage plus a five-year equity deal – full details are available on request.

The strength of this film lies in the story – it's not yet another indie horror or zombie film.

Highly talented actors are therefore needed for its telling.
We know you're out there!
The 'one-pager' is available here.

Most (by no means all) locations are interiors. This means that we often will not benefit from the luxury of space, so we are putting together a small, adaptable crew willing and able to 'double-up' and turn their hands to other tasks as required.

Shooting dates are not yet confirmed, but it will be around 20 days over the summer of 2026 at locations in the boroughs of Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich. It is therefore essential that cast and crew either live in this area or can travel easily to it. We will be making use of the Bob Hope Theatre in Eltham for readings and rehearsals.

The cast and crew call is below. If you would like to put yourself forward for any of these roles, please use the contact form or email info@fleetstreetproductions.com

AMRIT

Age range 35-50  IC4/open.  Female.  Londoner.

Amrit has worked as the office manager and administrator at the estate agency for many years. She is very competent; the kind of person who is on top of all the details, all the time. Amrit is not altogether comfortable with Kimberley's (the estate agent, already cast) sales techniques and tricks, but she bites her lip because she has a family and needs the income it provides.

Although written as a British Asian, this part could equally be taken by someone of a different ethnicity. The main requirement is that she has a London / home counties accent – i.e. she's a local. This part is a key supporting role with 32 lines over 9 scenes. Contact us about this role.

ANNE

Age range 35-45 IC1/Open. Female. British.

Anne, married to Jeff, who is wheelchair-bound (already cast). She is a neighbour and good friend to Maggie (already cast) and to the previous owner from whom Ryan and Maggie bought. She is a kind, empathetic soul; a good listener and supportive friend.

This supporting role has a pivotal function in the story, with 28 lines over 4 scenes.

BRANDON

Age Range: twenties. Ethnicity open. Londoner.

Brandon is Kimberley's (the estate agent, already cast) protégé. He sees himself as an entrepreneur, a future property mogul who is learning all he can from her, whom he looks up to as some kind of business genius. The only thing Brandon loves more than money is himself. He is an incorrigible poseur who can't survive long without checking himself in a mirror or taking a selfie. He goes to the gym religiously and drives a BMW he can't really afford. He lives at home with his parents. Brandon is an arsehole, whilst being very personable and popular with the 'punters'.

This is a great opportunity for a young actor to show off his character acting chops. 19 lines over 9 scenes. Contact us about this role.

DANIEL

Age Range: twenties. IC1. Londoner.

Daniel is the dark horse of the movie. He is young yet mature, highly intelligent and joins the estate agency as an intern, ostensibly to learn about the business. He also has another critical function in the story which will remain under wraps until the screenplay is read. Suffice to say this is a great part for the right young actor. 31 lines over 7 scenes.

RYAN

Age 30-40  IC1. Londoner.

Ryan is a high-end joiner, recently married to 'Maggie' (already cast), together with whom he buys a house sold by Kimberley the estate agent and main character (already cast).

He's a 'good guy' – a hard working straight arrow and very much in love with his wife, who suffers from occasional bouts of depression. This is one of the main characters (196 lines over 16 scenes) and calls for an actor of considerable skill.

SOCIAL MEDIA 'PERSONALITIES'.

Age, ethnicity, accent – all open.

One sequence in the movie is a series of social media hits, so we're looking for people who can do quick piece to camera. It's your chance to be in a feature film and get a credit!  We'd particularly like to hear from people whose native language isn't English in order to add an international 'viral' sense to this scene.  Contact us if you'd be interested in helping us out with this.
